Visitor letter and security application

To all our visitors

The Nairobi Hebrew Congregation has been in existence for over 100 years, and we are rightly proud of our reputation for warmth and hospitality to visitors to our beautiful synagogue and communal hall.

Threats to Jewish and Israeli property are a global phenomenon and, sadly, Nairobi is no exception. We therefore trust that you will bear with us in complying with our necessary security requirements.

Below is an application to visit the Synagogue and Vermont Hall.

Please take the trouble to complete it in full and if possible, email us a scanned version of your passport photo page. To enable us to make the necessary inquiries, we would appreciate your submitting the forms at least a week before your intended visit. In cases where the time limit is unrealistic, please contact us personally, with the application, so that we can make every effort to process your application quickly.

We do reserve the right to ask you a few questions in person. In the rare cases where applications are refused, we do not give reasons.

We promise to advise you immediately your application has been approved so that we may welcome you. One final security check will be at the gates where your approved form will be held by the security officers on duty who will compare passport and photo details so please do remember to bring your passport with you.

We thank you for your understanding.
